Do you have a ton of natural white or silver around your face? Do you color your roots every few weeks to cover it?
Choosing a color that contrasts with your regrowth as little as possible is always going to be less maintenance.

It may seem like fixing this issue is as simple as slapping one color all over- but it is not…
1️⃣ Use a color “remover” (which rarely actually removes dark color) to help loosen & dispel color molecules to create more room in the hair for the next step.
2️⃣ Create multiple formulas to apply over each of the different tones, moving through the hair in small sections to select where to paint each formula as you go.
3️⃣ Reconstruct. Without reconstructing, the color molecules will not attach themselves as well, creating more of a likelihood of an uneven fade because of the starting point.

🟣 Violet Shampoo vs. Bleach – Know the Difference! 💡
Let’s clear up a common misconception: Violet shampoo CANNOT lighten your hair like bleach can – especially if your hair is still very yellow or brassy.
🔬 Here’s why:
• Bleach is a chemical lightener. It works by removing the natural (or artificial) pigment from your hair, making it physically lighter.
• Violet shampoo, on the other hand, is a toning product. It contains purple pigments that help neutralize yellow tones using color theory (purple cancels yellow). It doesn’t lighten — it only adjusts tone.
⚠️ If your hair is too yellow or orange, violet shampoo can only do so much. It may mute the brassiness a bit, but it won’t give you that cool, icy blonde unless the base is light enough.
✨ Bottom line:
If your hair is still too dark or yellow, you’ll need bleach or a professional lightening service to lift it lighter before violet shampoo can do its job effectively.

💡 Why There’s a Limit to How Much Hair Can Handle Lightening 💡
When we lighten or “lift” the hair, we’re doing more than just changing its color—we’re opening up the cuticle layer, which is the hair’s natural protective barrier. This is necessary for any permanent color to take hold, but especially intense when using lighteners like bleach.
✨ What Happens During Lightening:
To allow color or lightener to penetrate, the cuticle must be lifted. This process exposes the inner layers of the hair, which are normally shielded by the cuticle. These inner structures are delicate and prone to damage if not properly cared for.
⚠️ The Risk:
If we don’t replenish the hair with the right nutrients and restore pH balance to help seal the cuticle back down, the hair becomes vulnerable. This can lead to weakness, dryness, and eventually breakage.
🚫 And here’s the hard truth: once the hair reaches a certain level of damage, it can’t truly be reversed—only managed. At that point, you’re dealing with “bandaids,” not solutions.
